How we edit a Paris day

Not "do less." The right amount, in the right order.

Most family-travel advice has the same flaw: it gives you more. More sights, more lists, more must-sees — and quietly leaves you to turn forty options into one liveable day, usually while standing on a corner with a tired child.

We don't add more Paris. We give you the right Paris.

"Right" is the important word, because it isn't the same for every family. A morning-nap toddler and a curious nine-year-old want completely different days. So do a family staying by the Louvre and one out in the 15th. The edit isn't a fixed amount of Paris — it's your amount, sequenced so it actually holds together.

It starts with a reality check: you tell us what you're hoping to do, and someone who actually knows Paris with kids tells you honestly what's reasonable — then does the hours of research and sequencing so you don't have to. What comes back is the memories, minus the planning.

"One main thing a day" is a fine default, not a law. If you want an ambitious day and your kids can take it, we'll build you a full one — we just plan the walking, the taxis and the food so it doesn't collapse. Same Left Bank, two very different days:

Food, on time

Meals timed before the crash, before each big push. The when matters more than the perfect where.

Honest sequencing

No backtracking, no criss-crossing the city. We decide walk-vs-taxi on purpose, so a big day still flows.

A place to run, a thing to find, a moment that's the child's own. Built in, not hoped for.

Backups

A rainy swap and a low-energy rescue route — and grounding moments for when it tips.

The truth about effort

Real walk times, real metro changes, where a stroller struggles. No surprises on the day.

What we cut — and why we tell you

The edit is the product. So every day names what we left out and why: the detour that costs twenty minutes for a worse lunch, the third museum that would've broken nap time, the "must-see" that's wonderful for adults and miserable for a four-year-old.

We're not cutting to make the day small. We're cutting what doesn't fit your family — so what's left is all yours. And we usually plan a touch more than you'll need, with backups, so on the day you're choosing what to drop, never scrambling for a plan B.
