Questions

Honest answers, before you buy

We edit the day. We don't control the city — here's exactly what that means.

How it works

Do you come with us on the day?

No — it's self-guided.

City Story Club isn't a tour or a guide. We plan a beautiful, realistic day; you walk it yourselves, at your own pace, using the app and map. No one tags along, which is exactly why it's affordable.

Is this a private tour or concierge service?

No. It's an edited day you keep, not a person on call. Think of us as the planning, done with taste — not a guide, a concierge, or a travel agency.

Is there a more hands-on option?

Yes — The Whole Story (€1,000) plans your entire trip with a 30-minute call and two rounds of changes, with only a few taken each month. It's still a trip you walk yourselves — we don't book or guide — just planned in full, with you, from start to finish.

What do I actually receive?

Your edited day in a simple app you open on the day, plus a private map — with timing, the food plan, a rainy swap, a low-energy rescue, grounding moments, and what we skipped and why. It arrives within 72 business hours of your completed questionnaire (holidays excepted).

Is this made by AI?

Digital tools help organise routes and drafts, but every edit is shaped and reviewed by Sonia before it reaches you. The judgment is human; the tools just keep it tidy.

Why not just use AI or a free blog?

A free app only knows what's online, and most Paris-with-kids blogs were written by a family who visited once. Neither knows the small things that make or break a day with a child — that there's an incline from the Saint-Michel fountain up to the Luxembourg gardens where a five-year-old needs a break, or that the Musée de Cluny (the one with the unicorn tapestries) is your cool, easy stop when it's pouring or too hot. I don't visit Paris — I take my own daughter on these adventures at least twice a week. So instead of a tidy list that falls apart at a locked door, you get a day that holds up — and you get to be in it with your kids, not managing it.

Food, tickets & the city

Do you book restaurants?

No. Food timing is part of every edit — when to eat, where to pause, backups for when the day shifts — but we don't make reservations. Want dinner shaped too? Add a Dinner Edit and we'll give you directions, not bookings.

Do you buy tickets?

No. Where something needs booking, your edit flags it clearly — but you purchase museum tickets, timed entries and shows yourselves, on the official sites.

Are opening hours and availability guaranteed?

Paris is alive — so no.

Hours change, exhibitions open and close, strikes happen, weather shifts. Your edit is built with the best current information and always includes backups, but please confirm final hours and bookings before you head out. Each edit is a guide, not a guarantee.

What if it rains?

Every day comes with a rainy-day swap — the indoor version, sorted by how much time you've got. Want a fuller wet-weather plan? That's the Rainy-Day Backup add-on.

Your family

What if my child gets tired or melts down?

That's built in. Every edit has a low-energy rescue route and on-the-spot grounding moments for when it tips. Ending a day early on purpose beats ending it in tears — and the plan makes that easy.

Can you handle allergies and dietary needs?

We'll keep your preferences and dietary needs in mind while planning. But we can't guarantee allergen safety at any café or restaurant — always confirm ingredients directly with the food provider before ordering.

We have a stroller / mobility needs. Can you plan around that?

Yes — tell us in the questionnaire and we'll shape a stroller- and mobility-aware day. Paris accessibility shifts by venue, station and construction, so we recommend confirming current access with venues and transport before heading out.

Is this good for toddlers? For older kids?

Both — the edit just changes shape. For toddlers: shorter routes, more pauses, stroller-aware, playground breaks, and food timing front and centre. For older kids and teens: more independence and choice, shops, food, photo moments, and neighbourhood wandering instead of playground-heavy days.

Is this only for first-time visitors?

No. First-timers get the Paris icons edited down to a day that actually works. Returning families get something more local — neighbourhood-based days, away from the busiest sights.

Changes, money & details

Can I request changes?

Yes — every edit includes one refinement round (gentler pace, swap a stop or two, soften the route). Bigger changes — a new neighbourhood, new dates, extra days — count as a new edit or upgrade.

What if our hotel changes?

Your hotel area shapes the whole route, so tell us the moment it changes. Before production, it's no problem. After delivery, a small shift can use your refinement round; a big one — the other side of the city — may need a fresh edit.

What's your refund policy?

Because each edit is made for one family and one trip, work begins once you pay and submit your questionnaire. Refunds are available before production starts. Once it's underway it's non-refundable — but if the finished day misses, we'll re-edit it once, free. (Final policy under review.)

What language are edits in?

English, with French place names where they help.

Can I share or resell my edit?

It's made for your family's personal use — please don't resell, copy, or republish it as a guide. That's how a small studio stays able to do this.

Still have a question?

The free Sailboat & Left Bank Day answers most of them by showing you a whole edited day.
